Sandstone restoration that brings the natural colour back
Careful cleaning, restoration and sealing for sandstone walls, steps and features across NSW.

Sandstone is soft and porous. It soaks up moisture and grows moss and algae, and high pressure will wear the face of the stone away. We restore it with a careful soft wash instead.
We check the age and condition of the stone first and adjust the mix to suit it. Moss is scraped off by hand, the stone is treated and rinsed gently, and a second treatment goes on if it needs one. Sealing afterwards helps it stay clean.

Gentle rinse
A careful rinse, then a second treatment if the stone needs it.
Why sandstone needs a gentler clean than concrete.
How the stone behaves
- It is porous and soaks up moisture and dirt
- It is soft, so high pressure wears it away
- Every stone differs, so the treatment has to as well
- Older stone needs a weaker mix
What we usually fix
- Moss and algae in damp, shaded spots
- Weathering and discolouration
- Staining from trees and plants
- Damage from earlier pressure washing
