Building soft washing in NSW

Low-pressure cleaning for facades, painted surfaces and render. It kills mould and algae at the root, so the building stays clean for years and the finish is never at risk.

High pressure is the wrong tool for most building facades. CleanHaven soft washes painted exteriors, render, cladding and other delicate building materials across NSW, removing mould, algae, lichen and dirt without damaging the surface underneath.

We soft wash up to four storeys from the ground with no scaffolding. Above that we bring in an elevated work platform or boom lift, which we organise for you, and our $20 million public liability cover extends to 35 metres.

Soft washing is the right choice wherever high pressure could damage paint, render or the substrate. The solution does the cleaning, so the surface isn't etched, stripped or soaked.

Services included in building soft washing

  • Building facade soft washing
  • Painted exterior surface cleaning
  • Rendered wall cleaning
  • Mould, mildew and algae treatment
  • Roof soft washing (where accessible)
  • Eaves, gutters and trim cleaning
  • Heritage and delicate surface cleaning
  • Shade sail and shade cloth cleaning
  • Biocide treatment for longer-lasting results

Why we soft wash facades instead of pressure washing them.

Render and painted surfaces are porous. A high-pressure jet forces water, and the growth with it, further into those pores and spreads the spores across a wider patch of wall. It can also scar render, lift paint and push water in behind the surface. The facade looks clean for a few months, then the green comes back and is harder to shift.

A soft wash kills the mould, algae and lichen at the root, then a low-pressure rinse carries the dead growth away. Most facades stay clean for years rather than months, depending on how much shade and moisture the wall gets. North-facing walls in full sun hold up longest; shaded walls under trees come back first.

  1. ApplySolution goes on at low pressure, from the bottom of the wall up.
  2. DwellIt sits long enough to kill the mould and algae at the root.
  3. RinseWe rinse from the top down. The dead growth lets go and runs off.
